'Zero-One' and 'Zero-1') Suspension Oil rated viscosity now = 15.1 (cSt) (and might have been misprinted prior) but will certainly work for us. The go-to Oil: Yamaha Suspension Oil '01' rated viscosity = 14.57 (cSt) I heard the 3.45w Showa/Honda fork oil referended on the chart between the Kayaba 01 and the Yamaha 01is possibly identical, and the small difference in the hot weight is possiblyjust a test variance and/orbatch variance, but there'sno confirmationKayabamakes it. The only place Ifound tech specs on a comparison chartin a semi-professional manneris here: where they show a 3.45w cold. ![]() They seem to change fork oil a lot, which could say something about its longevity. Some R6 forums talk about using Bel Ray 3w however its unsupported and nobody comes back to say they made a mistake or if it worked fine. Some websites spec 5w for KYB - Kayaba forks butI was told the Yamaha 01 and Kayaba 01 fork oils are lighter-than 5W (maybe 3w) but for me it didn't matter because a fork oil's weight is only part of the story. ![]() I found Kayaba 01 fork oil in 16oz bottles for $17 locally, about 1/3rd the price of the Yamaha 01 fork oil. Kayaba manufactures Yamaha 01 fork oil, and also sells it as Kayaba 01 fork oil in Kawasaki dealerships and other places.
